The west side of the GTA gives couples more variety than almost anywhere in Ontario. In one weekend you might have a sangeet in a Mississauga banquet hall, a ceremony on a golf-club lawn in Oakville and portraits against the Niagara Escarpment near Milton. Happy Soul Films has filmed weddings from our Brampton studio since 2016, and the west GTA is next door: most venues in Mississauga, Oakville, Milton and Burlington are 20 to 40 minutes away, so there's no travel charge and no rushing between events.

Mississauga: big rooms, big guest lists

Mississauga is home to some of the largest wedding venues in Canada, many of them clustered near Pearson Airport and along the 401 and 403. Rooms built for 500 to 1,000 guests change how a film has to be shot. We plan camera positions so the stage, the dance floor and the family tables are all covered, bring our own audio so speeches stay clear over the DJ, and use production lighting for the entrances and first dance.

Mississauga's South Asian community is one of the largest in the country, and many of the weddings we film here are Pakistani, Punjabi, Gujarati, Tamil or mixed. That often means a mehndi, a nikaah or Anand Karaj, a baraat and a walima or reception on separate days, sometimes at separate venues. We plan your coverage event by event, so each day gets the crew it needs.

Oakville and Burlington: the lake and the golf clubs

Oakville and Burlington weddings tend to be more outdoors: ceremonies on lawns and terraces, golden-hour portraits by Lake Ontario, and receptions in golf clubs and estate venues. These days run on daylight. We help you build a timeline around sunset so the portraits happen in the best light, and we plan a wet-weather fallback in case the lawn ceremony moves inside.

Milton: a growing community at the foot of the escarpment

Milton is one of the fastest-growing towns in Canada, and South Asian families now make up more than a quarter of its population (2021 census). Many Milton couples marry in Mississauga or Brampton halls, then head to the escarpment for photos and film: conservation areas, rocky lookouts and wide fields that give a concept film real scale.

• Client portal: your itinerary, timings and vendor details live in one place, and you can update them up to two weeks before the wedding.
• Coverage: every collection includes 15 hours of wedding and reception coverage, professional sound, production lighting and 4K capture. Pre-wedding events such as a mehndi or sangeet are added at $400 per hour.
• Edits: documentary films for each event, a cinematic or storytelling highlight film, and optional same-day or next-day edits premiered at your reception.
