We first met Monal back in early 2023 when we were scouting videography vendors. We knew him and his team were the one as their style of filming fit our vision.

One of the additions in our package was a concept shoot. That shoot was incredibly fun but also very demanding—Monal is a true perfectionist and wouldn’t stop until he got the exact shots he envisioned. I remember we were in the middle of a river at one point lol. At the time, multiple takes and long hours were exhausting, but when we finally saw the concept film played at our reception, we were completely blown away. Every bit of effort was worth it.

Monal has an unbelievable talent for storytelling through videography. The way he pieces moments together, his cuts, transitions, and attention to detail are truly next level. He doesn’t just capture footage, he creates a story that makes you relive every emotion all over again. Watching our films felt like watching our love story unfold on screen. We STILL watch them all the time (we always will).

Beyond the incredible work, what really stood out to us was Monal and his entire team as people. They were warm, respectful, and blended in so effortlessly with our families and guests. It never felt like we had a videography team at our wedding. It genuinely felt like w they were family there with us, celebrating and capturing our moments. That comfort made such a huge difference on such an important day.

Working with Akash, Monal and their team for our 5-day wedding was a dream!! When choosing a videographer, we went through 50+ companies and watched numerous videos of each company, before finally choosing Happy Soul. We wanted storytellers; a team that could encapsulate my husband and I in a video, and Happy Soul did not disappoint.

During our initial consultation, we mentioned that we wanted to do an engagement shoot in/around Banff, since my husband is from Calgary and that is where he proposed. Based on Akash’s excitement, we knew right away that this was going to be the perfect match for us. Monal spent 2 days with us in the mountains (and countless hours of driving) to get the perfect shots. We were blown away by the quality, care and level of detail in the video. So many of our family and friends told us that it looked like a Bollywood film and were impressed that the video matches the song we chose perfectly.

There’s no better person to film and edit your video than Monal! Film is his passion and his life. During our 2 days with him, we learned that in his free time he watches Oscar-nominated films for their cinematography and makes short films on the side for fun. He brings a lot of creativity to each scene and his calm demeanour made us feel very comfortable around him (and trust me, we needed that since it was our first time doing something like this).

During the wedding, they were on time, professional and guided us to get the perfect shots at our gorgeous venue (the Aga Khan Museum).

Our photographer lost half of our wedding photos and my husband and I were extremely sad + disappointed. We had spent so much time planning every little detail, and we lost our only extended family photos. We didn’t like talking about our wedding anymore. I messaged the team at Happy Soul in a panic. They expedited our wedding videos so that we could enjoy our memories AND they had shots from our family photos, etc. that we can screenshot and share.

I’ve recommended Happy Soul to all my friends getting married, no matter where they’re located. We’re looking forward to seeing our highlight reel!

I don’t have enough positive things to say about Happy Soul Films. They were by far our favorite vendor to work with. Monal is a creative genius! I’ve followed his work for years and every time he releases a wedding highlights video, I watch with a smile on my face and often even happy tears for complete strangers. He always manages to capture the personalities of the bride and groom in each of his videos.
