A Gujarati wedding weekend has its own rhythm. The pithi fills a home with turmeric and laughter, garba and raas nights carry on well past midnight, the mameru brings the bride's maternal family forward, and then the mandap asks everyone to slow down for the pheras. Since 2016, Happy Soul Films has filmed these celebrations across Toronto, Brampton, Mississauga and the wider GTA, and we plan every film around that rhythm rather than a generic run sheet.
Every Gujarati ritual, planned event by event
We map your weekend with you before the first event, so each celebration gets the approach it needs.
- Pithi and haldi: close, joyful coverage in homes and backyards, with room for the aunties, cousins and little ones who make it memorable.
- Garba and raas: we film the dandiya circle from inside and above the dance floor, and record clean audio from your DJ or live band so the music in your film is the music you danced to.
- Mameru and grah shanti: quieter family rituals that often happen at home, filmed discreetly.
- Varmala, kanyadaan and pheras: dedicated audio for the mantras and vows, mandap lighting that keeps its colour, and framing that includes both families.
- Reception: entrances, speeches and performances covered in full.

Your films and photographs
Every film is edited in-house by the team who knew your story from the first consultation. Depending on your collection, you receive a documentary film for each event (usually 30 minutes to 3 hours long), a Signature cinematic or storytelling highlight film of five to ten minutes, and optional same-day or next-day edits premiered at your reception. A same-day edit needs at least three hours between the ceremony and the reception. We offer both wedding videography and wedding photography, so one team can tell your story in motion and in stills. Films are delivered digitally, so family in India, the UK or anywhere else can watch and share them.

We film throughout Toronto, Mississauga, Vaughan, Markham, Oakville, Caledon and Milton, and at venues including Embassy Grand Convention Centre, Pearson Convention Centre, Grand Empire, Queen's Manor and Versailles Convention Centre. FAQ
Can you cover both a garba night and the wedding day? Yes. Every collection includes 15 hours on the wedding and reception day, and pre-wedding events such as garba are added at $400 per hour.
Do you film the pheras with proper sound? Yes. We give vows and mantras dedicated audio so every word is heard in your film.
Do you offer photography as well as video? Yes. We offer both wedding videography and wedding photography.
Do you charge travel within the GTA? No. Coverage anywhere in the GTA is part of your collection.
How far ahead should we book? We take a limited number of weddings each year, and many couples reach out a year or more ahead. Send us your dates once your venue is confirmed.
